Service & Creativity: Pen Pals in Poland!

Learning Outcome: Perseverance & Commitment (I will be continuing with this activity)

Through an online organization I met two girls from Poland who are learning english. We are not technically pen pals because we don't write emails to each other, but we talk on Skype or google teams once a week for an hour. I have had two video calls with one girl from Poland and one video call with another girl. I had a better time with the girl I talked to twice, Gabriela, possibly because her English is pretty good. I also think the calls can get a bit less awkward as we get to know each other. This also depends on how the conversation goes. We played two truths and a lie, one of the suggestions on what to talk about from the organization that connected us . It was more difficult to talk to the other girl. One reason for this was that her english was not as good and talking over the computer definitely didn't help! I'm not sure if I will have another call with this girl. However, Gabriela and I now have weekly calls on Saturday! We have talked about our multiple things, like school and YouTube - one of her lyric videos has over 900,000 views!! I will post more blogs as we continue to talk.
