CAS Project - Quaranteens

My main idea for my CAS project is a website filled with videos of teens from around the world. My friend Rai started a video project called CMT Chronicles, where she created a website that gathers videos that teens send in talking about their experience with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), which she also has. I have also heard of another project where people interview others to have more filmed videos of important people or of people talking about important events for historical purposes. There are multiple similar projects to these. I got the idea of mixing these kinds of projects together and creating a website similar to my friend Rai's but with the goal of creating a historical database of teens talking about the coronavirus in their area. The idea is to have a website with a big map and a bunch of videos of teens from all over the world talking about quarantine and other current events of 2020. My plan is to request videos from my friends first, and expand from there. It could be super cool to have more resources like this of teens talking about their lives from a historical perspective over history. For instance, if we had a resource like this for historical events such as World War Two or even smaller events it could be a great source for learning about history. Of course, that is a very ambitious goal, but it would still be cool to create a website with a smaller number of videos such as these. There are plenty of similar websites and people collecting stories of people around the world and their experiences with the coronavirus, including videos, but this idea is different because it is from a direct historical perspective and is only for teens. Additionally, this will be well organized on the website that I form. I was talking to my friend Rai and her Dad had the idea of calling this website "Quaranteens," which I think is a great idea. However, the word "quaranteens," is somewhat popular. I even found a youtube channel called quaranteens, so I may choose something a bit more original or something that is not related to quarantine solely so that this project can expand beyond the coronavirus. This CAS project will be related mainly to creativity but also somewhat to service. Some of the learning outcomes that this project may relate to are initiative & planning, working collaboratively with others, showing perserverance and commitment, and global engagement.
